Tergar Schools

Tergar Schools creates K–12 schools that foster kind and resilient human beings who embody awareness, compassion, wisdom, and joy. Based on the teachings of Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, Tergar Schools’ approach weaves together Tibetan Buddhist view, meditation, and application with disciplinary subjects, offering instruction through cutting-edge methodologies. 

Tergar Schools currently operates a pilot school in Kathmandu, Nepal. With 82 students, 8 faculty, 3 administrators, and over 15 support staff, in one quick year, Tergar School Kathmandu has become a dynamic space of learning for everyone involved. In late 2023, Tergar Schools will break ground on their flagship campus in the Yolmo region of Nepal. Tergar School Yolmo is envisioned as a naturally pristine learning environment in which students can explore both their inner and outer worlds.
