Tergar Institute: A Flourishing Community
At the Tergar Institute, we believe that the teachings of Buddhism have universal relevance, offering profound insights into the nature of the mind, the causes of suffering, and the path to liberation. The "Foundations of Buddhist Experience" course is designed to make these teachings accessible, building on each student’s unique background.
What to Expect
The "Foundations of Buddhist Experience" course provides a comprehensive introduction to the core principles and practices of Vajrayana Buddhism. Over the duration of the course, students explore key concepts such as the four noble truths, the five aggregates, the two truths, emptiness, and the nature of mind. The course includes practical meditation instruction, helping students to develop mindfulness and compassion in their daily lives.
Our curriculum is carefully designed with Mingyur Rinpoche to balance theoretical knowledge with practical application. Students will have the opportunity to engage with classical Buddhist texts, participate in guided meditations, and take part in group discussions. This holistic approach ensures that students not only gain a deep intellectual understanding of Buddhism but also develop the skills and practices necessary to integrate these teachings into their lives.
