Exciting News from Philim!
We’re thrilled to announce the grand opening of our new kindergarten in Philim village! The opening ceremony, held on 12th November, was graced by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, head monks from Philim and neighboring villages, and officials from the Tsum-Nubri Rural Municipality.

Alongside the many education and income generating projects for women in Nubri and Tsum, H.E.L.P. has created a new initiative to provide Himalayan men with education, skills, and employment to help support local communities.

Sama Kindergarten, run by Tergar Charity Nepal, is a vibrant educational institution located in Sama village of Tsum-Nubri Rural Municipality, ward 1, dedicated to offering quality early childhood education to local children.
Tergar Institute: A Flourishing Community
The Tergar Institute is thrilled to welcome the second batch of students to our "Foundations of Buddhist Experience" course this September, in person at Osel Ling Monastery, Kathmandu, Nepal.
H.E.L.P is Building a Women Community House in Samagaun.
The house is built by H.E.L.P and will be managed by Samagaun’s biggest community group, Dharma Ghyan which was created by Khenpo Gyaltsen, a lama from Samagaun and teaches women Tibetan scripture, Dharma, Buddhist prayers and rituals.

H.E.L.P. Joins the Nature Positive Delegation at COP 28 in Dubai
In early December, H.E.L.P.’s program team traveled from Samagaun village, high in the Himalayas to the deserts of Dubai for COP 28, 2023. After adapting to the scorching heat (a steep change from Samagaun where it was – 7 C at night!), the team set out for Dubai Expo 2020, UNFCCC/COP 28 venue.

Tergar Charity Nepal has been honored with the prestigious 2023 Equator Prize. This international accolade celebrates exceptional community-driven initiatives that alleviate poverty by conserving and sustainably utilizing biodiversity. Tergar Charity Nepal's outstanding work in the remote Nubri valley, nestled within the northern border region adjoining Tibet, has rightfully earned them this recognition.
